POWDER SNOW AND WINTER FUN
Ski area Carezza
From the 2020/21 winter season, the new “König Laurin” cable car will take winter sports enthusiasts 560 metres upwards to the Köllner hut. The mountain station at 2,337 metres is only recognisable by the entrance and exit caves of the cabins, so that the breathtaking mountain panorama is preserved in all its glory. Skiers move on escalators like in the underground palace of King Laurin at Catinaccio/Rosengarten. Enchanting in every (panoramic) way.
There are some great offers for children
If the parents buy a one-week ski pass, children under 8 will receive a free ski pass, and children under 16 will receive discounts on their ski pass. The Carezza ski resort is one of the areas in South Tyrol which get the most sun, with an average of 8 hours per day – making it a true paradise for those who love the sun and mild temperatures. There are panoramic terraces on many huts in the resort, where you can chill, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the amazing vistas of the mountain scenery. The place is famous for its eclectic evening entertainment which includes night-time skiing and moonlight tobogganing.
The Carezza ski resort offers fantastic attractions for every taste – prepare to be surprised!
Kinderland kids’ area
One highlight for our younger skiers and families is the Kinderland at Frommer Alm. One special feature is the modern cable winch lift, the only one of its kind in South Tyrol; this lift transports the little ones into King Laurin’s crystal palace, where once industrious dwarves worked. A snow snail brings this spectacle to life. The new cable winch lift is 110 metres long, covers a height difference of 18 metres and is able to transport 650 children per hour. In addition, you find a King Laurin themed piste, leading from Frommer Alm to Nova Levante/Welschnofen. Here, kids can experience the exciting tales of Laurin and his Similde at 6 points along the route. There are also two rest areas where they can take a break for a while.
Go as far as Sella and Pordoi with the Fassa/Carezza ski pass
Thanks to the “Alba-Col dei Rossi” gondola and the Fassa/Carezza ski pass, skiers can easily access the slopes at Sella and Pordoi. The gondola car is 2,260 metres long, covers a difference in altitude of 883 metres and is able to transport 1,120 people per hour (2 cabins each with a capacity of 100). In less than 5 minutes skiers can reach Canazei-Belvedere and Campitello-Col Rodella from Alba, and thus directly access the Sellaronda. The ski carousels of the Val di Fassa, Pozza-Buffaure, Alba-Ciampac, Canazei-Belvedere and Campitello-Col Rodella, are all connected to one another, meaning that in addition to the 40 varied kilometres of slopes in Carezza, you can also access 73 km of skiing fun in Val di Fassa – without needing to use a ski bus.
